The second of our garden tours, this Kent based tour is a short 4 day tour and a perfect ‘add on’ to other destinations. This tour is focussed on the House and Garden’s of Kent which is known as the Garden County of England.
Inland the Cilento is largely undisturbed by the 21st century and we cycle through quaint fishing villages where the traditional way of life is still very evident. There is a wild kind of beauty here from the dramatic coast to the rocky ridges towering above it and an abundance of flora, including Aleppo pines, myrtle, prickly pear and ancient olive groves.

- Day 1:
Mount Ephraim & Canterbury
You will start your trip by a stop off at Canterbury and go on a walking tour of the city and its cathedral. Later on, you’ll be taken to the enchanting Edwardian garden of Mount Ephraim.
- Day 2:
Secret Gardens of Sandwich & Sissinghurst Castle Gardens
Today you will visit the Secret Gardens of Sandwich which are perhaps the finest example of a Lutyens-Jecky ll designed garden in the whole of the UK. Later on during the day, you will be taken to Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, with its bewitching play of colours and mood.
- Day 3:
Penshurst Place and Gardens, Downderry
Nursery Gardens and Emmetts GardenThis morning you will get to the roots of horticultural traditions at Penshurst and then pop inside the ancestral home of Viscount De L’Isle to tour the state rooms and medieval Baron’s Hall. Later on, you will enjoy an aromatic tour and follow your nose around the display gardens at Downderry Nursery. In the afternoon you will visit Emmetts Garden and plunge amid exotic and rare trees and shrubs from across the world in this delightful informal garden.
- Day 4:
Leeds Castle & Goodstone Park Gardens
Today you will have the opportunity to visit Leeds Castle, described as “the loveliest castle in the world”. This castle has been through more than 900 years of History. You will then follow Jane Austen to Goodnestone Park Gardens near Canterbury, a surprising haven of tranquillity hidden away in southeast Kent.
